The covert backpack is called the Transformer for a reason. In less than 30 seconds (less than 10 if you have practised), the backpack is transformed into a tactical ballistic vest with your weapon strapped to your chest.
The bag has three main functions:
- Reconnaissance
- Tactical
- Personal protection.
For the undercover officer, the bag will hold your radio induction loop and headset. It can also hold your handgun and baton where they are easy to reach. There is also space for a ballistic vest and backup weapon to be carried discreetly when only a thin shirt or T-shirt can be worn.
For the tactical officer, the bag provides the ability to transform a civilian-looking person into an assault-ready operator in about ten seconds. The bag contains the ballistic vest and ceramic plates, magazine, diversion grenades, radio with headset, police badge, etc. The G36 or MP5 is attached to the inside of the bag and can be easily removed when the vest is deployed.
The personal protection officer can be covert and still carry protective equipment and backup weapons, increasing the chances of handling a critical situation flexibly and quickly.
